Sophia was picked up on a snowy day March 3rd of 2012. She hugged Dad’s leg as he tried to put her in the car to go home with him and the kids. She sat in the car and didn’t move and stared and drooled the entire 2 hour drive home. Owen and Mackenzie comforting her the entire way. Upon arrival, she leaped from the car and ran around excited with her new surroundings. When asked to come, without training and only 2 hours of meeting, she instantly responded. This as it would be was a theme throughout the life of Sophia. She required no real training, she instinctively knew exactly what we were wanting or asking and just did it.As Sophia and the kids, lets not forget Christian, who didn’t go to get her… they grew together and the bods between them all (each one different and special) grew deeply. She in turn helped raise and protect her kids and Dad to an extent. She went everywhere and was constantly on the go to practices, stores, parks, walks, etc. Sophia was Dad’s companion and best friend. When the kids would come home on the bus she would run out the front door, down the street, wait for them to exit and walk them home (ignoring all other families and dogs). Sophia would venture through the neighborhood and even found a sympathetic lady that thought each morning she should make the poor stray girl a few eggs, while dad was showering and Sophia was in the backyard. One day there was a knock at the front door, it was this nice lady. The second Sophia saw her, Sophia made a guilty ace and left the front room. LOL. She was busted and busted herself. This was also common. The guilt look and pizza on the floor, crust and sauce but missing cheese and pepperoni or a missing kids sandwich always was funny. Did I mention she had a slightly high prey drive? Did she love to hunt critters or grab birds flying too low while the kids played basketball on the driveway. She loved all kids hers the most but she was drawn to any small child she saw and they to her. There are so many stories that sound like fiction but Sophia did it! I could go on and on. She was heaven sent, she met her destiny to help our little family grow and be protected. When her destiny was fulfilled, she passed on painlessly and crossed the rainbow bridge. It loss is crushing and she will be terribly missed for all the years left in all of our lives.Sophia you loved unconditionally and with every fiber of your being; Eric (Dad), Mackenzie, Christian, Owen and the last few years Cari (mom) was accepted into the pack unconditionally. We all loved her back as much as she gave her love to us.
