Miss Daisy was a rescue with The Buster Foundation in her 1st year. She was part of a foster/training program with a women’s prison. Sadly, our rescue received word of dogs being mistreated and the program was shut down. Miss Daisy was a fearful little thing. More then anything she hated her feet touched. Daisy went on to be adopted and when she was about 5/6yrs old, she was returned to rescue with only hours notice to take her back “or else”. Failed by her adopters who knew her fears yet did not respect them. And so this little fearful girl came to our home as foster. Her quirks made it hard to find her a home but in the process, she blossomed. She was safe, and became comfortable and confident. She was still special and had different needs then our other dogs. We dubbed her “weird girl” for her out of the blue, unexpected antics as she would overcome new hurdles. She became ours as we knew, no one would understand her quite like we did.And her impact on our lives, the way we went about our day to day, are forever changed. She also made us blossom. We’ve learned how to help other quirky, fearful pups just like her. That will be her legacy that we carry on with her in our hearts.
