Book. Before and after. Laughter & heartache. Triumph & failure. For 12 years she saw me through all of that, faithfully leaning into me, looking for a hug. And a snack. Always w the snacks, this one. She was a unique spirit: friendly, independent, curious, affectionate, marched to the beat of her own drum. She loved people, especially her aunties & her nana. She liked beer. Not just any beerIPA. Only IPA (she licked the empty bottle-tops). She didnt like boy dogs. I decided she wasnt gay, she was just tired of their sh*t. And she always let them know it. Today she rests in peace. She was suffering; it was time. Whereas Mabel was like my kid, Book was my best friend. Mabels loss caused sharp pain; Books causes ache. Permanent ache. I know they have snacks & hugs in heaven, sweet girl. I just know it. Gorun with your sister. Bride down. And then there were none.
