I had just had Breast cancer surgery and was not intending to adopt any animals. However, my sister came to visit just after I had been released from having had major surgery and spending a week in the hospital. I was very well
medicated. Apparently my sister mentioned how her cat had just had kittens. Cool, right? Fast forward to Thanksgiving of 2014, we are celebrating at my other sister’s house and the sister with the kittens says to me, “the kittens are ready to go to their home.” I responded with, that’s great, good luck. She looked at me and was like you are still taking one, right? Ummm no. I never said I was taking a kitten. Well, she reminded me of that day she had come to visit me. So, we went to her house and there were these two tiny kittens with their mommy. I fell in love with the Carmel colored one and we immediately named her Samoa. Her sister just seemed so attached and we could not leave her behind. So, Tag became Tag-a-Long. Yes, like the Girl Scout cookies! Tag-a-Long was sweet, gentle, and loved to be pet and cuddled. She didn’t meow, she squeaked the smallest squeak you could imagine. She would flick her ear back if you blew on it and she loved to sleep in her cat tower AWAY from her puppy siblings. She loved her morning snacks before mommy left for work and she never liked to be cold. Some days I would find her hiding behind the dryer when it was running. But, what she loved most was when you would go into the bathroom and she would walk between your legs while you sat on the toilet and she would force you to pet her while she squeaked at you. This was also in front of her favorite warm spot. The heat vent in the bathroom was her very favorite! When her time to go came I held her close and wrapped her in blankets while she stayed warm in front of her beloved heat vent. Tag, we already miss you so much and Samoa is lost. She has been looking for you in all of your favorite spots. Til we all meet again in heaven sweet girl. We love you so much! I will recognize you by your little white symmetrical swirls on each side! Rest sweet girl, rest🫶🏻❤️
