Remy is my albino African Pygmy Hedgehog. She was born 2/22/2016 and was the cutest little ball of spikes and pink skin wrinkles. As she aged, i began to recognize her personality. Everything had to be on her terms. She only cuddled when she wanted to cuddle. Sometimes i think she only tolerated me and my antics. But she was such a good baby. I loved watching her run on her wheel, giving her baths and when the snuggle time was right, she would snuggle right against my neck and fall right to sleep. That’s why i gave her the nickname of Diva. Because that’s exactly what she was, a diva! She passed the evening of 10/19/2019. I was out all day with my sister and niece, stopped to grab dinner and came home to eat. I was sitting on my sofa, eating, when i saw her come out. She went to her water dish, took a drink, walked around it and laid down behind it. This was unusual for her, especially since it was only 6pm. I went and took her out of her enclosure and put her in her favorite bonding scarf and put her on my lap while i ate. All of a sudden i heard her squeaking. I took her out and she was gasping for air. I held her against my heart/chest as she took her last breaths. I truly believed she waited for me to come home, and she will be waiting for me on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. I love you sweet girl, always, to the moon and stars!
A candle was lit in memory of Remy.
