In loving memory of
Allie

Allie was adopted through Guardian Angel Animal Rescue when she was believed to be 2-3 years old. Her start in life was rough – being abandoned by her humans and left in the house they vacated, she was left to fend for herself and her newborn kittens until she was rescued. As such, her trust in humans was understandably low. Fearful of all interactions initially, she’d run away and hide when we would try to engage in those early days. Happily, we eventually were able to gain her trust and she acclimated well to her new home and family. Her mama instincts never left, and she demonstrated a protective disposition by running up to us anytime voices were raised or chaos ensued, vocalizing her disapproval. 🙂 She would also protect us while we ate by standing guard next to the table. She wasn’t begging for food, she was simply standing guard and “cheering us on.”
She liked playing with her “cat brother” which would often alternate between play-fighting and her grooming him. She was a quick little huntress and enjoyed activities where she could put her skills into play, like when chasing the red laser dot! She loved shrimp, scallops, and was known to steal kernels of popcorn when you weren’t looking. She hated the vacuum and would high-tail it out when she saw it coming. She strongly disliked us grooming her and would “bark” for us to stop.

If I could say one more thing to her, it would be that her life mattered and she made our family complete. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. The only comfort is knowing that she is no longer in pain and that she will be waiting for us at the rainbow bridge. Rest easy, my little peanut- until we meet again…
