At the time we got Hunter from the Humane Society we already had a dog we also got from the Humane Society. Taylor was a pretty big dog a Husky/Lab mix with the demeanor of a lab. My daughter wanted a small dog so we adopted Hunter. The two of them were great together I think little Hunter looked to him as his Big Brother. When we got him he was very skittish and would flatten out when bent down to pet or pick him up. I always assumed he was mistreated prior to us adopting him. I never knew if I was more upset about how this little dog was treated or happy they did the right thing so he could be with us. When Taylor became old and we had to put him down we were of course upset but it was Hunter who was not the same for a long period of time, it was sad to see him that way. He missed his Big Brother, dont ever tell me dogs dont have feelings. Hunter was certainly a lap dog and loved to be petted especially on the belly. If you were petting his back he would roll over and pretty much tell you okay do the belly now I wish I could do that now I miss him so much. Anyone that goes to this website obviously knows the heartbreak we go through when it becomes time to say goodbye to our best friend. So to all of you going through what I am you have my deepest sympathy.
