We adopted buddy 8 years ago when he was 4 years old. By that time, he had already gone through 3 different households due to his unsociability with other animals. I still remember the day we got him. Buddy reacted so positively to my family when we were walking him around the outside area at the pound. Since then, he was able to eat well, be loved, and no longer did he worry whether or not this would be his final home. As you can see in the video, he has been able to acclimate to other dogs and even cats. He’s still very suspect of unfamiliar animals, that hasn’t changed, but now that he’s in his twilight years he is much more grumpy than aggressive. It only dawned on me recently that he won’t be around much longer. It’s easy to focus inwards and forget that the passage of time is ever flowing. Though his time with me and my family takes up only a fraction of my own life – it’s a majority of his.I wanted to capture a sincere afternoon where we walk around the house that became his forever home.
