Lucy, a tortoiseshell cat, completed her journey June 26, 2024. Her family let her go peacefully after an aggressive cancer diagnosis.

Lucy joined her family 8 years ago and never looked back. After working to create dominance with her longtime companion, Rocky, she asserted herself as an alpha. Craftily, she jumped on the kitchen table nightly, looking for table scraps. She sat on whoever’s lap was readily available. Lucy was best known for talking up a storm and sneaking tastes of her favorite dishes, which included pizza and ham juice.

She loved everyone and adored pets from whoever was around. She was so efficient, she found a way to have a rule instituted in the house: if Lucy danced, you had to give her a pet. No exceptions.

She was the perfect family pet, adopting the two small children of the family as her own. She would sit with them and even stay with them all night in their beds. She dutifully accepted their (at times) aggressive affection. Just being in their presence gave Lucy joy. Lucy loved to be loved.

She is preceded in death by Rocky, her longtime Maine Coon companion and partner in crime. She leaves behind a wonderful trove of memories her family will cherish forever.
