Daisy Mae came to me when she was about 2 to 3 years old. It took a bit for me to finally rescue her and I will never forget the day she ran into her new home and jumped and played with me on the floor. She was so happy. When I took her for her first grooming she was so calm, like she knew she was going ti be loved and taken care of. She had so many matts and burs in her fur she had a hard time walking but it didn’t stop her. It took almost five hours at the groomers and when she walked out she was walking with her head held high and wagging her tail because she knew she looked beautiful. She gave me so many kisses. Daisy was my protector, even when she was sleeping she always had one eye open watching out for me. She was a calm and peaceful girl and loved to get her pettings in. She would always lay down next to anyone nudge their hand and wait for the rubs. There are so many things she loved doing. She loved to go fishing and would alway jump in the water to catch fish. She loved going for card rides especially in the jeep with the top off. Her favorite was the snow, she would run out side and lay down in the snow and roll around in it until she was fully covered in the snow and then look back at me with the biggest smile I guess that was because of the malamute in her lol. When my husband and me first got together she approved of him right away and gave him kisses and love just like she did the first day she saw me. Joe had his girl shadow so when we got together Daisy got a sister also. Daisy and shadow where best friends. Car rides where definitely fun with the two of them. Daisy had a special bond with Joe and would always sit by his side. A few years later we added Sasha to the pack. Daisy wasn’t sure of Sasha at first because she was a puppy and being a husky she had lots of energy but daisy would just find her spot and lay down and Sasha do her thing. Another thing about daisy she would always let us know when dad would pull up in the driveway. She had this bark that would alert us. It was always one bark and only one but to was loud!!! She would wait at the fence for dad to give her a treat. All of us would pack up in the car and go on trips up north. She loved running around on the property in the woods and jumping in Lake Huron. As the years went by daisy started slowing down but still wanted her cuddle time and would lay in her bed at the back door and watch the squirrels out side. Oh I almost forgot the time daisy caught a possum and when I called for her I didn’t know she had it and was carrying it towards the back door. She was trotting and wagging her tail like look mommy what I got for you and when she brought it in to the house I was in shock lol. I told he no outside and she took it back out side and put it on the patio. I told her thank you because I could see how happy she was to bring me something but that it had to stay out side. The possum was fine and not hurt in anyway and just walked away. But that was definitely a memory. We had so many good time together and everyone she came in contact with fell in love with her. Almost 11 years we shared our lives together. We could see it in her eyes the last few days that she was tired, we didn’t want daisy to leave us as Joe would say she was our fuzzy wuzzy. Shadow and Sasha layed with daisy her last night and even our neighbor that would always meet daisy at the gate and gave her treats came to say goodbye. She went to the rainbow bridge like a queen, Surrounded by love and family. Daisy not only did I rescue and save you but you rescued and saved me. Your kind soul will never be forgotten and you are so missed but you are always in all of our hearts.
